Office Policies

Appointment Policy

Once an appointment is made, the time is reserved for each individual patient. To avoid a broken appointment penalty, patients are required to notify Westshore Family Dental at least one business day in advance of any cancellation.

  • Will I be charged for missed or cancelled appointments?
Sometimes a missed appointment fee will be charged for a missed or cancelled appointment depending on the individual situation. We require 24 hours notice to move or cancel an appointment. This allows our staff time to offer the appointment to another patient (and allows that person time to make personal arrangements with their employer, babysitter, etc.).

Our policy is to call two weeks prior to scheduled cleaning appointments which have been booked three months or longer in advance. This allows our patients time to check their schedules and get benefit information in case a change has occurred. We also make a second courtesy call to confirm all dental appointments at least one business day before the scheduled appointment.

  • Do you offer appointments in the evening?
We do have a limited number of evening appointments available. These times are set by appointment only.

Financial Policies

Dental treatment is an excellent investment in an individual's medical and psychological well-being. Financial considerations should not be an obstacle to obtaining this important service.

It is our policy to ask that our patients pay their portion of the fees at the time treatment is rendered. We can determine that amount prior to scheduling your appointment. In order to assist you with the investment in your dental health, you may select from the following payment options:

CASH, MONEY ORDERS & PERSONAL CHECKS

For multiple visit treatment plans, if you pay the full estimated fee at the start of treatment, you will receive a bookkeeping discount.*

CREDIT CARDS

We accept VISA, MasterCard, and Discover

INSURANCE ASSIGNMENT

We understand the value of insurance benefits and we will assist you in obtaining your maximum allowance. We will process your claim and estimate your deductible and your co-payment amount. Your co-payment is due at the time of service and may be paid by any of the options listed here. The final payment made by the insurance company may be different from the original estimate; any overpayment will be refunded or credited and any underpayment will be billed directly to you.

We are sensitive to the fact that not all our patients will be able to fulfill our request for payment at the time of service. Therefore, we provide the following options:

INTEREST-FREE PAYMENT PLANS

Through CareCredit, you may arrange 3, 6, or 12 month interest-free financing.

EXTENDED-TERM PAYMENT PLANS

Through CareCredit you may arrange credit with no down payment and low monthly payments over an extended period. Low interest rates and terms as long as 60 months are available. *

We will be happy to work with you to plan the most appropriate arrangements for your budget. This will allow you to begin your treatment immediately and spread the costs over a period of time.

If you wish, you may discuss these options further with our Office Manager.

* Managed Care, PPO plans excluded.
